Highfield is set in 4 acres of landscaped gardens and is a co-educational preparatory school for children aged 2 to 11+ years. It is fully equipped with its own well established nursery and prepares children for all independent Grammar and Public Schools in Lancashire, for which it has an excellent academic record. Class numbers average 20 and children are taught by fully qualified and experienced staff. Recent additions to the school include a new classroom block and multipurpose sports hall, Infant wing and Dining room, Library and IT Centre, self contained nursery wing.
Extra curricular activities include Ballet, Swimming, Gymnastics, Badminton, Table-tennis, Modelling, Chess and Instrument Tuition. A bus service is available from certain areas. The school is well supported by a flourishing and enthusiastic Parents Association. A prospectus is available on application to the Headmaster. Currently nursery vouchers can be redeemed for all 4 year olds and there are 5 Assisted Places available for children at 7 years of age.
